Korea’s Leading Blockchain Firm DSRV Selected as UNIDO Partner for Financial Infrastructure Development in Africa

DSRV, a leading blockchain technology company in Korea led by CEO Ji-yoon Kim, announced that it has been recognized for its technological expertise by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and selected as a cooperation partner for building financial infrastructure in Africa.

On March 12, 2025, DSRV received an official letter from UNIDO, inviting the company to join the PARS (Global Project for Innovation in Climate Adaptation and Resilience Building Solutions) initiative as a Co-financing Partner. This marks a significant case of Korea’s blockchain technology being recognized by an international organization and is expected to accelerate DSRV’s global market expansion.

The PARS project is a global initiative led by UNIDO to strengthen climate change adaptation and expand financial inclusion. The cooperation between DSRV and UNIDO will focus on leveraging blockchain technology to improve financial access in low-income countries.

Through this partnership, DSRV will work with UNIDO to build blockchain-based financial infrastructure in Africa, such as payment and remittance systems. Based on this foundation, the company also plans to expand into businesses including microfinance services. The collaboration not only provides DSRV with financial support for entering African markets but also secures international credibility through its partnership with UNIDO.

Alois Mhlanga, Director of Climate Change and the Montreal Protocol at UNIDO, emphasized the significance of the project, stating, “UNIDO aims to promote economic growth in developing countries by collaborating with companies that possess world-class innovative technologies.”

Another UNIDO representative added, “DSRV is recognized as a top-tier blockchain validator worldwide and is the optimal partner for UNIDO’s program to deliver financial infrastructure to regions in Africa with underdeveloped telecommunications, thereby improving productivity.”

DSRV CEO Ji-yoon Kim shared, “I have personally visited countries such as Madagascar to explore opportunities for supplying blockchain-based financial infrastructure in developing nations. During this process, UNIDO approached us with a proposal, leading to this partnership. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to deliver blockchain-based payment systems—already validated by major domestic enterprises—to African countries together with UNIDO. We expect this to significantly accelerate DSRV’s global expansion.”

Looking ahead, DSRV and UNIDO plan to submit a joint Letter of Intent (LOI) for co-financing and partnership investment to the Global Environment Facility (GEF) in June 2025, officially entering the project execution phase. A UNIDO official noted, “As the PARS program expands to countries such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nigeria, Haiti, and Cambodia, we expect DSRV to play an important role.”
